208/366: There are only excuses 


I ran to Falkirk this morning. From there I can get the train to work. The train I catch is the same one I’d get from Croy at 6:55am. I get it 13 miles away at Falkirk at 7:05am. A great way to get an early half in. 

More importantly though, I use the 30 mins on the train to do a really deep stretch and flush the run out of the legs. The floor is manky. It’s probably had spew, piss, shit and god knows what else on it. But needs must. 

These are just a couple of ways I use time effectively to keep on top of my training. I could make excuses, but they would be just that, excuses. If you want to do it enough you find a way.

  1. There is so much inspiration in this post. I am dealing with a lot of excuses lately. I am a teacher and I have been working master’s classes this whole summer break. I have recently made the choice to get back into my running because it was how I released my thoughts, and anything that was weighing on me. Thank you for the inspiration.

  2. Thanks! I got out and ran 2 miles yesterday, and I will be working up from there. 🙂 I have always loved to run, and haven’t ran in months. I was proud to knock two miles out yesterday.
